Between Riverside and Crazy Tickets - Hampstead Theatre

“Son, that girl, she’s a nice girl, but she doesn’t study accounting. Her lips move when she read the horoscope – that ain’t the mark of a future accountant!”

Ever since his wife passed away, ex-cop Walter ‘Pops’ Washington has filled his lavish rent-controlled apartment in one of Manhattan’s most desirable districts with an extended family, made up of petty criminals and oddballs. So now Pops finds himself besieged by the other landlords, who want him out of the building, the NYPD, who want him to settle his lawsuit against them, and the local churchgoing ladies who want to save his soul … But as he remains calm at the eye of the storm, Pops is going to do...... what Pops wants to do…

Michael Longhurst returns to the Hampstead Theatre with Between Riverside And Crazy, Stephen Adly Guirgis’ fast-moving Rabelaisian tragicomedy, and was a Broadway hit, winning multiple awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

‘Astonishing… as it flips between comedy and tragedy on its way to the truth in between’ New York Times

Hampstead Theatre Seating Plan

Although the venue first opened back in 1959 as a Scout Hall, it wasn’t until 2003 that what is now the purpose-built Hampstead Theatre finally opened to the public featuring two performance venues.  The Hampstead Theatre is now home to many new writing and ground-breaking productions in London prior to them making the transfer into the West End.

The intimate and cosy theatre has a seating capacity of 325, and has attracted some of the world’s greatest talent over the years,  including Jude Law, Tamsin Greig, John Malkovich, and Felicity Kendal, who have all appeared in shows at the venue.

A nice modern venue with good facilities and decent viewing angles and good sound throughout. Some of the Dress Circle seats are a little cramped and lacking in legroom and width and some seats within the theatre feature slight restrictions due to pillars so studying the seating plan prior to booking tickets is recommended.
